The Civil Service LGBT+ Network is coordinating the Civil Service’s presence at Pride events across the UK in 2022. We are also organising an online programme of events to keep Pride On wherever you live.

We will be taking part in pride marches and parades in every UK capital city this year, as well as a number of other towns and cities across the country.

Joining instructions

Thank you for registering for Birmingham Pride which this year will be celebrating its 25th anniversary of being in the city. The theme for this momentous occasion is “25 Years of Pride and Protest”. We hope that you have an amazing pride.

For those who have registered to take part in the parade, then please meet at the meeting point which will be Chamberlain Square for 10:45am.

Meeting point

We will then make our way to the Centenary Square as a group where the Parade starting point will be. From the starting point, the parade will then make its way through the city from 12 noon, before making its way to the Gay Village. After the parade, there will be a Civil Service Social event at The Victoria.

Please find information on accessibility on the Birmingham Pride website.

Accessibility guidance.

If you have any accessibility needs then please let the West Midlands representatives (Jayne or Nora) aware in advance and they will make sure these are taken care of. There will also be a WhatsApp group created nearer the time.

You will be able to collect your t-shirt at the meeting point.

Pride participants guide

Everyone attending the Parade will need to read the Parade Participants Guide 2022 (created by Birmingham Pride) prior to the Parade. The group leader will ask you to sign a sheet at the Parade to agree you will follow the rules and guidance set out in the document.

Rules for the day

Please remember that you are representing the Civil Service and must follow the Civil Service Code at all times, especially when wearing the Civil Service T-Shirts during the parade.

You are not allowed to drink alcohol on the streets in Birmingham. You will be able to drink responsibly at the social event afterwards.

Please check for further details as well as ticket information for the festival area itself on the Birmingham Pride website.
