Civil Service LGBT+ Conference

The Civil Service LGBT+ Conference is the career development and workplace inclusion event for LGBT+ civil servants.

Come along to hear from a variety of speakers, and take part in breakout sessions and networking opportunities. The day will be outcome focused, and provide a great learning and development opportunity to support you in developing your career in the Civil Service.

Timing

The conference will take place on Thursday 6th October from 10:15 to 16:30. Delegate registration will open from 09:30.

Location

The event will be held in-person at the 1VS Conference Centre, Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy, 1 Victoria Street, London, SW1H 0ET.

What to expect

On the day, you can expect keynote speeches and panel discussions focusing on:

• transforming your career in the Civil Service
• implementing effective, data-driven change in your workplace
• bringing your authentic self to work
• effective allyship across employee voice networks

You’ll also be able to take part in speed mentoring and a range of breakout sessions covering successful profiles, confidence and resilience building and much more.

Secure your place

You can secure a place at the conference via Eventbrite. Tickets will be released in three waves so that everyone get’s a fair chance to secure a place.

• Monday 29 August at 10:00
• Monday 5 September at 10:00

Approvals

This is a learning and development event. You should be able to attend as one of your guaranteed learning and development days each year, and your employer should be able to cover travel and accomodation costs.

If required, we recommend speaking to your line manager about attending and putting a scheduler in your calendar for the day.

Costs

The Civil Service LGBT+ Network is covering the costs of holding this event. If you are an LGBT+ civil servant, there is no cost to attend the conference; places are free of charge.

The Civil Service LGBT+ Network cannot pay for travel, accommodation or subsistence costs.

This event is taking place in-person only. We will be holding a separate, online-only event with similar content for those who cannot attend in person. Details of this online event will be published soon.
