Hi, I’m Ali (she/her)

I’m a behavioural scientist in the Government Digital Service, based in London. I recently joined the Civil Service from academia, where I spent my time researching and lecturing on how people make decisions under uncertainty. At GDS, my work is all about applying behavioural science to make the design and adoption of services more evidence-based and user-centred.

Within the Network, I’m a regional officer supporting events and organising across London, and I’ll also be helping out on communications and engagement across the wider Network.

Outside of work, I’m on the committee and proud co-captain of the women’s and non-binary team at Stonewall FC - the UK’s largest and oldest LGBTQ+ football club.

Generally, I am passionate about creating more space for women and non-binary people in LGBTQ+ networks and communities, and in building activities that bring us together around the things we share! I’m also part of a queer writing group, and I love connecting through queer writing and reading networks.
