Hi, I’m Antonia (she/her), one of the leads for the Queer, Trans and Intersex People of Colour working group, formed under the Civil Service Race Forum, and I’ve recently joined CS LGBT+’s leadership team responsible for Intersectionality alongside Jen.
I’ve worked across the civil service in a number of departments but have always been involved with diversity and inclusion. Previously I spent 2 years as co-chair of the Fast Stream Race Equality Network; my favourite parts of this role included collaborating with other networks and capturing the intersectional angle to inclusion. With the QTIPOC+ group I hope to bring back some of my favourite events, such as the listening circles and annual trips to UK Black Pride, and explore new ways to foster a sense of community across many departments and regions. Watch this space for our relaunch! Now, I’m also excited to continue championing intersectionality for all characteristics as part of CS LGBT+.
In my day job, I work in DESNZ as an analyst on the UK’s Greenhouse Gas Inventory, based in London. Outside of work you can usually find me on my bike, running, lifting, or exercising my endless social battery. If you have any ideas for the QTIPOC+ group, or for the intersectionality work strand, do get in touch.
