Role
Vice chair
Projects
Trans, intersex and non-binary inclusion

I am the CS LGBT+ Network’s Trans, Intersex and Non-Binary (TINB) lead, alongside holding vice-chair responsibilities for the cross-government a:gender network. Strategically, this allows the two networks to be more aligned on their shared remit on TINB inclusion. In the day job, I am a statistician and mathematical modeller for the UK Health Security Agency.

I believe everyone has the responsibility to contribute towards making the Civil Service a welcoming, respectful, truly inclusive place to work. My involvement with the LGBTQI+ community in the Civil Service starts in 2020, wanting to give back after receiving support from DWP Pride and a:gender during my own personal journey.

During the past 6 years, I have covered roles such as Data and Analysis support for a:gender, before being elected as one of the four vice-chairs in the past two election rounds. I am used to speaking to wide, diverse audiences (including senior civil servants), engaging in mentoring, and providing one-to-one confidential support to TINB staff and managers thereof.

In my free time, I enjoy playing music (mainly jazz these days) in several bands, running, powerlifting and climbing. Yes, sometimes I sleep too!
